In any way I cannot really answer to the "why" of your question, just make up my mind and suggest to you to put your suggestion into the suggestions thread.
been drinkin' too much sea water eh?
The reverse is possible via distillation. But yeah you can't boil off the salt.
Yeah I was just messing. Enjoy your sea water soup!

You can also obtain water from trees vita transpiration but let's not get into that shall we?

Distilling yes, simply cooking the water will just make it more salty. You need to capture the steam.
how every survival video is a guy cooking a steak and drinking beer around a fire.
instead of showing you how to obtain materials and use them lol
sigh
As for practicality idk if it would really work well. But is it possible? Of course. You can distill all sorts of things.
cold bottle hot bottle
I agree with you on the Beer and Steak, however, if they are real survivalists, how would they have a camera? And if they are lone survivors, who would film them?
But again, you're right. Real survivor videos are rare to find, but they are out there. If I remember that one guy who literally crafts everything, fishes, hunts with hand crafted arrows and cooks stuff on rocks.
Cheers!
Why would a real survivalist not be able to have a camera? Also, ever heard of a tripod?
If you ever saw a show called Survivorman you would know you can have a camera, be alone, and still be a real survivor.
