From what I was able to test, I built three log holders as a box and used a log sled as a gate in maybe a foot of water at the beach. It was pretty jank but seemed to have persistence. However, not sure if they will despawn after a few days or so. If they added the collision to the turtles, you could build a better solution with normal stick fences. An actual blueprint would be cool but I doubt they would add it. With enabling the collision on the turtles would at least would provide a solution to it.
There are land turtles and sea turtles in the game presently.
Whoops. For some reason my mind was stuck on the sea turtles. Seen them a lot more.
