Mutants in The Forest vs SOTF

How do you feel about the mutants when comparing the two games?

I think the new mutants are cool but I still prefer the armsy and virginia (fatman was great too but I didn't like it as much as the other two). The appearance of the armsy and virginia were very unique and the virginia was terrifying just to look at. I feel like the old mutants had a much stronger horror vibe to them. I remember all the times my friends and I would hear the sound of an armsy or virginia in the distance and instantly be put on edge. Something about the way they sounded was just creepy. When it comes to sound, the fingers is on par but I think the rest aren't as good. Hearing the breathing of the fingers out of nowhere is just terrifying lmao. Perhaps one of the reasons would be that the newer mutants feel too human? While the armsy and virginia only remotely resembled people

I love the demons though, love the design and their attacks. Very enjoyable compelling them with the power of Christ

The Forest's mutants all had character, like the cannibals, you even felt empathy toward them. These new ones have no personality.

Fingers is definitely the best new mutant. There really was something special about the armsy and virginia, even the cannibals. While cannibals look, and behave superior in SOTF they don't scare me at all. The mutants can "spook me" with a jumpscare if I did not see them but I don't fear the mutants nor cannibals in SOTF

Can you explain? Cause I have no idea what you're talking about that the OG mutants had personality. All they did was hiss and scream at you.

I think the new mutants are great but they lose their spooky factor fast if you have to kill 50 of them in one cave. In the forest mutants were rare but tough to take down, in SOTF they are everywhere and not even remotely as challenging to fight.

Did not think about that but that is definitely true, the new mutants are far too common

I love the new mutants but nothing beats Armsy’s cries in the middle of the night when you could hear him in the distance but didn’t know if he’s coming towards you or not.

I still remember how terrified I was hiding in the bush while an Armsy and couple of cannibals walked right past me, not knowing if they’ll find me or not.

There was something about the audio of the forest that made the mutants far more scarier for me. As for The Sons of the forest, I guess only the blind mutants come close.

100% agree, I also miss hearing all the cannibal screams and howls during the night
