7900 xtx crash/ driver timeout after a few minutes.
Ive tried everything i could find online and none seems to works. Its a new build, fresh windows install. ive tried DDU multiple times and installing the driver only version of adrenalin. Turned off mpo and multiple other settings. None seem to make a difference. Anyone else having this problem? Sometimes ive played for an hour or two without a crash but most of the time it will crash in under 5 minutes. When it does run it averages over 100fps and it usually very smooth at 1440 ultra settings but its sad i have to play it on my old PC with a 3070ti. I hope AMD or Endnight can fix this soon

Did you try the recent driver from yesterday for the 7900xtx?

I have a full amd system and never had 1 crash playing hours at a time without mods.

I have a 5800X3D and a 6900XT though.

** I just noticed you said new build. Let me ask did you get the latest chipset drivers from your motherboard manufacture website? Get them from mobo website and don't let windows automatically get the drivers for you. Amd systems do like the latest drivers straight from the source. Also if you did that, the last thing I would suggest is a bios update for your mobo.

Yes i just installed them today with high hopes but still the same outcome :(. It seems to be an issue with some 7900xtx cards from what ive researched. IDK if its a driver issue or a game bug or both. I just want to play on my new system

It could be the 7900xtx, but did you read what I typed above after I edited at the bottom?

bios update is the last thing I would recommend, unless some kind of factory oc is being placed on the cpu and or gpu.

I have the same issue, my build is quite similar....
Asus Rog Strix B650-A
Ryzen 7950x
Gigabyte 7900 XTX
32gb Kingston Fury DDR5

Same GPU and issue here.
Managed to get it to run for about an hour or so by capping FPS to 60, and setting most settings to Medium or low.
Also did some other fixes, but this one seemed to work for said hour.
I wrote Endnight an email, maybe I'll get a response.

awesome let us know what they say. Im thinking its more on the AMD driver side of things but i honestly have no idea. Ive played a few other games with this card and it does amazing so i dont think its a faulty card. Hogwarts legacy plays amazing, Modern warfare 2 and warzone play amazing. Im gonna try overwatch tonight i think but ive played the others for hours straight with no issues at all amd was super impressed. Hopefully they can get this fixed. I love this game i just hate switching computers to play it. my headset is a pain to getr working properly after switching lol

At least its not just me. And this is nothing to celebrate but im glad in a way that you have the problem with a different brand 7900xtx and not just the xfx version. Ive seen quite a few posts with the xfx specifically and some people with a reference model that seems to be running fine

I capped my frame rate in SonsOfTheForrest Settings menu and defo more stable than before. I was worried there was something wrong with my GPU as I have only had it a few days and it only started crashing today.

i tried to cap mine at 85 earlier and it crashed like 30 seconds later so it doesnt seem like that is going to help with my crash :(

Try 60, it defo helped me, I was crashing minutes apart and after capping I played the last hour or so without issue.

If this really worked, it sounds like you are putting less load on the GPU. Basically gimping the GPU some or similar to downclocking / undervolting the GPU.

It could be pointing towards the 7900 boost clocks. I did mention early on it could be related to a factory oc on the 7900.

If that really works for you hours on end, you could try tweaking the GPU in the gpu control panel and downclocking it as well temporarily until a patch comes out.
