Watch, they'll hype add house cats to the game that you can keep in your home because people will start screaming, "Add cats! Must have cats! Need fluffy kitty cats!"
They couldn't even give the existing animals predatory AI so it makes the environment feel more realistic. No bears, cougars, no wolves - nothing. This game is a world that's trying to invoke a feeling of immersion in the wilderness, but everywhere you turn, there's something that reminds us of the incredible amount of immersion breakage this game suffers from. I mean Seagulls don't eat fish, insects, mice or anything in this game and that's only one example among many. They just fly or sit around looking pretty or steal your food. Funny seagulls can steal our food, but can't hunt for themselves. Ridiculous.
Endnight doesn't want animals to behave that way though and they've made it pretty clear. One of the worst decisions ever on their part.
Regardless of any of that though, cat food makes no sense in an environment where there are zero cats so it definitely feels out of place in the world.
this is the best answer to this thread period. I would bet money on it .
It is a survival game after all, and there is no dog food on the island.
So the dog will have to learn to survive on cat food. And any other edible item we find and decide to give them.
Thank you BORG.
