But I can agree about making updates that focus on certain aspects. They introduced solar panels, cool. But if the whole update was about that and added a bunch of things to test with it instead of only lightbulbs, that would be a nice building focused update. To the rest, all I can say is to have patience, people have been airing lots of grievances recently so maybe the developers will heed this and try out a different approach with what to prioritize.
One other thing to note about the unicycle, it was an already existing asset so they really didn't have to do much work on it, only exacerbating the feeling of laziness. I also feel it doesn't really fit into the game, no lore reason for it either. I wouldn't mind if it was A vehicle option, but it being the only vehicle feels like a slap in the face.
It is fun at times, and I'm not too sad about it as having anything to increase traversal speed is nice, but it really should have been accompanied by a more useful vehicle. I am still optimistic, and hope with the increasing pressure the devs really start working harder.
the building construction is great in concept but the bugs have stopped me from building any further. I've planned multiple 1000+ log structures, only for the structures to become bugged halfway through. I can't tell you how many times this game won't let me place or remove a log from one corner, but it works perfectly in the mirror image corner on the opposite side. It's beyond aggravating, and this build system means you need to demolish quite a lot whenever you encounter such issues.
Indeed, I have experienced this many times too. It's very frustrating at present. Something that I applaud considerably is the graphical realism. It really does feel like being outdoors in the wild. I'm hoping they add more details to the outdoors and incorporate more survival mechanics, like more things to do with tarps, paracord, making hammocks, snares for rabbits, pit traps, bark baskets, fire bows, etc. These elements of a game help drive immersion way more than a unicycle. I would have expected something like a unicycle to appear later in the game, perhaps instead solving travel issues by introducing fast travel as an optional game setting, perhaps marked by building your own fast-travel posts with some food and material costs required to be present in your backpack before you fast travel.
Flashback to when I had to demolish half of my ceiling in order to build a staircase..
