Zipline, it's just better. and faster than walking with a sled would be.
Though with all the people complaining about it they are likely going to add it in eventually

I just hope they make big changes to it like maybe a log sled that you can tow with the new "vehicle" which could potentially carry more logs and be the only thing I would consider better than the zipline if it were easier to take logs across significantly longer distances...if the suped up onewheel has that much horsepower lol

Otherwise I stick to my initial statement, the zipline is just better hands down and the log sled as we knew it is obsolete, it serves no significant benefit over the zipline.

fair is fair we are all entitled to our opinions. I'm pretty confident we'll get some form of log sled in the future, I imagine and hope the only reason it's taking this long is because they may be doing improvements over the original janky design

I'm torn on this one. I agree, the zip line is "better" in the long run for your main base, but eventually the zip line becomes redundant. It would be nice if we could link multiple zip lines together in a line so we can extend the reach of the first one.

The sled is more convenient when you just want to make a bigger than average outpost but not big enough base to warrant a zip line. I'd say the sled is more important for this game than it was in the original because the size of the new map makes mid sized outposts more valuable than in the original map.

Interesting take, my opinion is kind of reverse. I feel we need a bigger faster log sled for bigger builds and longer range logging, for mid to honestly pretty long range ziplines are quite comfortable to work with but it's once you want to log out of sight of your home that the ziplines get annoying but so would a carbon copy of the old log sled

I may not agree on your reasoning, but I definitely agree with the need for a bigger, faster log sled (or an alternative for moving logs ofc). I guess everyone has their own techniques and I'm sure solo/duo/group play makes a big difference in how the tools are used and how valuable they are. I generally play duo with the missus so sleds are just a fast way to move stuff around for us in the original game. Funnily enough we use sleds to move logs to ziplines more than anything else.

do a mix of solo and duo myself, when duo logging typically one of us will chop trees while the other will round up logs with kelvin and send them along ziplines. once a pile of trees were chopped down which doesn't take long then both of us plus kelvin would round up/transport the remaining logs.

I find ziplines even better with duos because you can send logs across two ziplines that much faster for longer ranges like an old fashioned bucket line. even with a log sled you have to pick up and place two logs at a time to load up the sled and it's much slower than the ziplines for travel speed

Personally I'm still pretty stuck on the best use for a log sled would be if it were adapted to do what the existing options are not well suited for which is long range logging. That being said I do think the ziplines are better for long range logging if the log sled was copy pasted over as it was

I think ziplines are far more useful than the log sled. The main problem is that they only become available when completing a difficult dungeon. A log sled would certainly be useful early game while trying to establish a base. The other problem is that due to the lack of a method to repopulate trees, those still available can eventually be out of range of a zipline, requiring multiple ones to connect back to your building site.

It's not easy to create a new model with a new mechanic into the game, it takes time. The vehicle and solar panels were already there before EA.

the tough cave to get the zipline is an inconvenience I agree but it's not the end of the world

The zipline works arguably better than the old sled design for short to quite a long range, it's a little annoying when you have to use 2+ ziplines but at that range the old sled would be just as inconvenient if not more so as the ziplines would still be faster.

This is why I think a carbon copy of the old sled is completely redundant and we need an upgraded version if anything, capable of carrying more logs faster for long distance logging, otherwise the ziplines and kelvin fill the close to respectably long range quite well

Allow the ziplines to be unlimited line of sight. I know it's not realistic but it's fun, and that's the whole point. :)

WTF with Endnight not giving us players the log sled. WTF is their problem? This not quite a game breaker for me, but my blood is boiling. I know one thing for certain, and that is that the devs of Endnight do no listen to their player base. Im done with leaving comments on their Feedback & Suggestions forum. The Forest will always be better than this piece of junk called Sons of The Forest. I will NEVER recommend this game to anyone, not even my enemies. As for Endnight, they are dead to me and I will NEVER buy anything else from them EVER!!!!

pretty sure they already confirmed they are adding a log sled in an interview just be patient, I'm just hoping it's not a carbon copy because it would be redundant compared to the existing options
