Right now, I think there are more important things to do...
Might be a good idea to buy the game before telling the devs to implement something you won't use cause you dont have the game :^) You'd also then realize that the games performance is wayy too bad to hold the frames needed for a comfortable VR experience. If VR does happen, i'm hoping its one of the last things they do to the game.
There is no reason to buy the game unless VR is added or at least the developer makes a commitment to add it.
I do agree VR should be only added after the game has been optimised enough to permit a good experience.
The first game has VR, maybe people should give that a go if they havent.
This game already has hints of VR stuff in the developer console, so it will probably happen someday

Do you think 'green hell' its a good option? worth the investment?
Green Hell is quite nice and has much better VR integration than The Forest. It's only solo though...
