Suggestion for Adding Realism to Winter Conditions: A Proposal for Slower Movement and Crafting Snowshoes
I believe it would add a more immersive experience to the game if walking in winter snow was made more challenging and slower for the player. However, to balance this difficulty, players should be able to craft snowshoes. They could choose to craft traditional snowshoes with a webbing/tennis racket look, or more modern ones consisting of metal (possibly found in a cave) and/or plastic (possibly using a 3D printer).

>Introduce inconvenience that makes the tedious walking even more tedious.
>Introduce solution that fixes the "immersive" inconvenience forever.

Yeah, great gameplay loop. Can't wait.
Seriously...
I think more immersive experience would come if the winter doesn´t start in one night.
Ground is covered in snow and all the pools frocen in one night?
And you cant do any kind of holes in ice? And striking it with axe or something just makes a splashing sound... :steamfacepalm:

+1
They really need to make it so we have heavy nonstop snowfall before winter kicks in to make the transition between fall and winter more believeable and less abrupt.

I have winter clothes and still cold.

More to fix will have another look see how winter is in 5 years.
Even the ice is bugged and fires dont even work.

They did this for the first game and it barely made a difference in movement speed. Personally I'm content with winter already causing less animal spawns, less plants, and low temperatures. There's other things that I think would be worth balancing that would make winter more challenging or impactful.

You should visit my state some time. Yesterday, 55, today, 8 inches of snow. Tomorrow, 54 with a chance of snow. We have four seasons here: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter and Construction.

And that state is?
I live in northern Finland. Snow depth 117cm at the time and the coldest day was -33.6C.
And yet still our lakes don´t freeze over night..

If you got a suggestion, you could post it in the suggestion/feedback thread, its a sticky thread in the top of this forum, but here is a link for any anyway. Otherwise your idear might get buried under other threads.
