Coop doesn't work. Stuck at lobby.

Hello,

Whenever I try to launch a coop game with a friend the one hosting the game can enter the game after a loading screen while the other one stays stuck in the lobby.

And if the one stucked tries to join the game through steam he can only join the lobby, but not join the game. After some times he is kicked back to the main menu.

Please help.

Multiplayer ,host, friends only and amount of players ie 2, start lobby as host ,invite friends and wait. Wait for friends to join and voila start game.

You mean to wait once we are both in the lobby for the game to launch automatically ?

No wait for friends name to pop in and launch it. Never had a issue.

In short my problem is, I host the game, my friend join, we are both in the lobby, I click on start, I go in to a loading screen, then I'm in the game, but my friend is stuck in the lobby which says "Game is starting" but nothing happens. And after a while he goes back to the main menu.

It's the same when he is hosting.

Yeah, I am currently having this issue with my other friend. We saved in the caves. I think at this point that we should create new saves instead of overwriting the older ones. This game is so bugged to the point that we cannot play due to whatever is happening. My friend is so upset on what just happened, and it makes me sad too. This update (3/23/2023) better fix this :(

My son and I both got this game today and having the exact same problem as OP. Yet to successfully load into a game together. His logo loads EEEEEVER so slowly but he never gets in... Meanwhile I am starving and stuff but don't want to play the game without him...

Same Problem here...
I buy 2 Copies of the Game (For Friend and Me)

Host Game... 2 in Lobby ... one got Loading Screen and can Play, the other Stuck in Lobby and says "Waiting for Host to start"

even with
Host Multiplaye, start the game ... and invite a Freind .. -> BÄM -> Stuck in Lobby and waiting for Host

I found a Solution... works on me:

-> Steam and the Main App works over iPv6 but the connection from the game uses IPv4
-I got a different netzwork on IPv4 and IPv6 on my PC
-- 192.168.0.xx for internal Network without Internet
-- IPv6 for normal Internet connection over FritzBox(192.168.178.xxx)
-if i use the IPv4 network of my FritzBox 178.xxx the connection Works for Multiplayer

This did it for me!
My host disabled ipv6 and i was able to join with the character i used in our previous session
Win 10:
Control Panel -> Network and Internet - > Network Connections -> right click the connection you are using -> Properties -> Networking tab, scroll till you see "Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP / IPv6)" -> This box needs to be UNCHECKED

Well I found a solution for my problem though I didn't do anything said above. High-speed fiber optics has been installed at my home (my friend already had it, but not me), we did a quick test and voilà, the game launched properly.
