Thoughts on the ending, Is this based on Time Cube conspiracy theory ?

The self-proclaimed "wisest man on earth," Otis Eugene "Gene" Ray has a famously ridiculed theory that closely lines up with the ending. (Easter island , cannibals , time etc)

What are your thoughts ?

Watching twitch streams for the game I was made aware of this time cube stuff and found it hilarious but could the devs actually have used it for inspiration ?

From what i read about it, this theory is only about 1 day actually being 4 days.
Just because it has the word "cube" in it, doesn't make it in any way related to what's going on in SotF.

Yeah it's mostly a joke , there is a funny video of the conspiracy dude and he starts talking about cannibals on easter island , the end of the world and other stuff that made me laugh and reminded of of the games.

Someone brought it up during the end scenes of the game , in the first game it was kind of a Bermuda triangle situation so having another weird conspiracy referenced doesn't seem too far fetched.

On a serious note the games leave a lot of question about the lore, hopefully we get some more clues about whats going on.
