u can play the game like u want.
if it is too easy for u - just dont skip the night - problem solved.
if u dont want to die many times (sitting around all night long) - skip the night.
(if there are enemies close to u - u cant even skip the night)
So If i can't skip i Had to sit there do Nothing or Spam My Game with torches.
So No, nights must be skipable. Non skip makes the Game Not Harder, but more boring.
Pros to sleeping:
- Advance to next day for daylight
- Avoids potential battles in darkness of night
- Restores your energy
Cons to sleeping:
- May advance days too quickly, leading to quicker build up of mutants in caves
and on the surface and cannibal aggression
- Typically wake up voraciously hungry and thirsty, could eat through your food supplies quicker
- Lose a chunk of time that could be spent scavenging and building during night
Now those cons would probably have much more effect if some aspects were rebalanced but this is how I view it. Otherwise what would be the point if beds now. The game isn't really a tower defense where there's mechanics that have night time raids happen so removing the ability to sleep just seems pointless. And despite the limited survival aspects(which I hope they add more of and balance better), it's marketed as a survival game. And a survival game where you can't sleep would be strange.
