Best easy place to get Pistol/Shotgun Ammo?

Where are the best easy places to get Pistol and Shotgun ammo ?

My memory has failed Me.

But you do realize that you can add as much ammo as you want using the dev console, correct? Either way there does not seem to be a 'best' place to gather ammo as loot is semi-randomized. A few cannibal villages/caves should easily get you stocked up

not everybody wants to "cheat" tho.

Ammo is found at spots all over the map in very small quantities. That's how it's meant to be. Ammo is supposed to be a scarce resource.

Firearms shouldn't be your primary weapon, but rather used in "holy sh*t" situations or during the new mini boss fight added with the last update (those mutants are TOUGH without the shotgun).

Besides, your best bet is to give Virginia the pistol and shotgun since she has unlimited ammo. She's basically a walking auto-turret once armed. You can always go get second ones for yourself. But I would recommend letting her do the shooting and you doing the melee combat.

If I recall, batteries, arrows, and bullets are the best/most common loot from the first 3D printer room.
The helicopter landing over on the wetter side of the island I think had more military-themed stuff, though I could be insane. Oh and the life raft is prob not too bad considering stuff gotten there on top of basic loot.
I feel like the loot boxes outside the rope gun cave are more tuned towards violent-items, but again that might be a skewed memory.
The plane landing has a ton of boxes; none I believe to be violent-themed, but I've still gotten bullets and bombs from them.
The dead soldier of fortune on the beach with the boombox I believe tends to be mostly ammo and food. And maybe a static-placement tarp?

the tents near the shotgun that is buried in the grave. it has pistol ammo and bunch of boxes that give random ammo but usually shotgun

Wrong I could have finished the game long ago, but decided to mess around building bigger, but those slinky Mutants just clip through the defence wall and destroy the buildings, best way I have found to stop them quick is the Shotgun, but as I said My memory fails Me where i got most of My ammo, was just wondering if there was a decent place that was easier and more than some where else.

if ypu want easy ammo go to the maintenance places and abandoned camps. if you go in caves or the nightclub or final bunker you have to fight a lot of enemies.

i agree. my main weapon is the crossbow bc it's easy to get headshots. just gotta dodge well when reloading. i use chainsaw in a big fight

You'll have to progress quite a bit, enough to get to the VIP bunker on the northeastern part of the island along the coast. When youve got it unlocked you can simply meander in, save at the bed right before the cave entrance in the bathroom, and collect ≈ 12 - 20 slug ammo Everytime you load into the game. All ammo and supplies respawn once you load in, so you repeat this and stock up on slug ammo, 9mm ammo, and grenades very easily. Takes about 30 min to get over 250 slug ammo 🤙

I've found that the helicopter crash site where you start yields the most ammo.
