Can you put a sturdy door into stone walls?

I am new to the game so excuse me if this is common knowledge but is there any way to put a door into a house made of stone? Preferably without it being a weak spot

Yes, you can put a door in stone walls.
check your survival book for it, there's an exact illustration for both how to do doors and windows.

It's basically like you build an finish a stone wall. then you put your axe in your hands, position yourself in front of the wall and you'll see some markers to cut out.
then take some logs and you may built your door.
