Then what happened?
I stopped caring really. I drink from rivers and lakes all the time. The health hit is tiny, and I just heal back up from eating anyway.
Then the pod lid will close and you will need to wait a bit. It opens again once the water is ready.
Make sure you've got a proper campfire. or the fire might not burn long enough.
If so find camps with one and pick it up. Go to water with cooking pot in hand. Get dirty water from the water source by looking strait down and by pressing the use button or E and bring the full pot to camp fire.
Lite the camp fire and place the cooking pot on it maybe add some meat or other recipes for food gain as well.
Use flask on pot for boiled water or stew in the flask and then tap the E or use button to pick up cooking pot with clean water or stew and there ya go.
You have to hit the gear icon to start the boiling process. It's not a bug, it's user error.
How do you even tell if the water is dirty, as of a day or two ago everything showed up green to drink, if I drank from a dirty pond or a fresh stream I gagged and putting the pot on water just sat there for me forever too, the lid did not show as placed on the pot.
Not sure but I would think all standing water is dirty and all stream water would be fresh? It sure doesn’t show any difference for me and boiling doesn’t help, I think the only time I didn’t gag was from a rain catcher and making tons of them is like nearly impossible due to hard shells being SO rare. Plus nothing let me know the water quality difference on it. The canteen is also pathetic, one full canteen just fills you up once.
Imagine if you could install the game, start it, and not have to search the internet and forums to do all stuff - this would be an immersive game... instead you go in and out of reality .. in and out of the game back and forth to internet which is a buzz kill.
Regarding Sons of the Forest and Water as compared to The Forest .. its nice that now we can carry water in the pot around with us .. we can make a flask... and we do not have to kill two deer and get some rope to make an animal skin so we can carry water.
However, getting to this point in the game where in your sleep you can boil water etc. they have made it quite aggravating ... a game should be like a game not like we are back at work dealing with a lot of aggravation.
