fill flask with clean water

can you either boil the water directly in the flask or fill it from a cooking pot without drinking some on accident?

you cant combine the flask or cooking pot youll just drink from it

Yes that's how it works

(One cooking pot that's easy to reach is on the north-slightly-east J-shaped bay with the 2 sailing ships)

Exactly. Currently you can get clear/unpolluted water only by following the steps mentioned above or by using the rain catcher.

well do you mean equipping the flask and holding e on the cooking pot to fill it? cuz that always causes me to just drink from it AND fill my flask when all i want to do is fill it without drinking

I can - of course - not be 100% sure but I think it's simply an animation error. Since I play with godmode my fluid bar is always fully filled so I can't say if it's only an animation error or fills flask and also makes you actually drink. In any way that's basically how you can fill up your flask with clear water.

Yes I guess that animation was an oversight. It does fill the flask while also causing you to drink. It only consumes half the water in the pot like it should, so technically you are getting a free drink.

They should stick a consumable item in the game called a "life straw" ;) ... You can use it to drink cleaned water 4 times and then it gets discarded.

Pretty sure the pot has to be freshly boiled and then you can use the flask. If you picked up the pot first then put back down, even if it's clean, then you can't fill a flask. That's been my experience with it.

No such thing as filling the flask from a source other than standing/flowing water which means your water is polluted. Have not tried filling it from the rain catcher as I can't build one yet.
