Sons of the forest Needs to become Scary.
I have fond memories from the first game of becoming really scared when wondering around in the woods, especially before the base is all set up. The enemies, the sound the atmosphere. There was something magical about the first game in that area that needs to be implemented in the Sons of the forest.. I always looked at the cannibals in this game as quite funny and goofy like something from an old Disney movie which can be funny from time to time, but I do not get scared what so ever..

I like the cannibals in this game, but yes, it needs to be scary, and isn't really.

The first game had that unusual feeling that is hard to describe but it was for sure very scary in the beginning. Even for the older generation ;)

its not because the game is not scary, its because you've already experienced it all in the first game. plus, you probably grew older.

Actually I played the first game last year, and I am still middle age not senior =) lol

Who tf is modding this game? And survival hard is simply tedious, it's not increasing any spooky factors at all.

The flaws keeping this game from being like the first one are likely never going away and the game just is what it is. A not so great sequel.

SOTF is pretty much the first one with huge and empty map, old enemies, bad AI design and lots of guns and ammo.

I was hoping for a deeper story, and more content other than building log cabins that really give you anything.
But rather than story, I would take a lot more anxiety that someone is lurking in the woods...

Indeed I also think they should have done much better enemies, put some more thought into it. Especially the cannibals

i definitely agree, the main problems being the sound and the ai.

also you get op way too quickly compared to the forest.

i'd like if the cannibals would progress, shooting back with arrows, throwing spears, i would like for the attacks on my base to progress

It's a mix of alot of things that made the forest scarier.. like melee fighting was alot harder in the og forest (unrealistic), just use the katana or axe in both games and you'll know!
Improving the AI would definitely help or speed up the enemy animation times.. there is alot of idling in some of the enemy animations!
We can out run all enemies i think in SOTF but in the forest u couldn't outrun the cowman and sometimes u got stuck in some kinda charge loop.
Stamina was also something u had to build up, u where slow and tired very fast in the forest
with starting level 20.
And to OP to fast with guns and companions helping with distraction (kelvin) and virginia with killing isn't helping either!

The demonic cannibals and their patrol routes where you can run into them at any time is probably the biggest fear factor in the predecessor (on the surface) but, we already fought them for hundreds of hours maybe, the game should get more horror elements in some other way. The old cannibals were also too loud and revealed their location in an instant, now there are more surprise attacks and you have to look around more.
