Too many enemies?

Every evening, starting from day 1, I'm having like 20 enemies in my camp I'm having to fight off. Not all at once, but like every 5 minutes, 3-5 come and attack. It was like this for me when Early Access started, and I recently came back to see the changes, and there are still a crazy amount of natives attacking me all the time.

Is this intended?

one of three things. 1. your building to close to a path. 2. your building to close to the enemy camps. or 3. you killed to many and raised the ai agro level high. best to try to stealth it till you find a good spot to set up a base before you start wiping out camps and enemies. also mutants don''t seem to start appearing outside until you brake the planks off the cave entrances as a heads up.

What are your base coordinates? Location? I almost never get enemies.

Hmm, not sure tbh. I have been playing "blind" if you know what I mean, in the sense not using guides or anything. Are coord's even on the gps?

When I say lots of enemies, when I go exploring, again, like every 5 mins, 3-5 enemies are chasing me or attacking me. I die a lot because I can't keep enough or find enough medicine to even begin to keep myself going.

I started another game earlier this evening and it is the same, enemies like crazy. Before I can even build my first fire, 2 or 3 little crawly guys are lunging at me. In the state I'm playing it it isn't fun at all. I absolutely loved the first game. I remember that first encounter with another humanoid was memorable because it's not like you saw many the first few days.

thanks I will keep these in mind. I'm not expert at the game, but I'm pretty sure I haven't built a base close to a path and I definitely haven't cleared any camps. Within 5 minutes of a new game, stupid little crawly guys are lunging at me in numbers.

if you had a family member killed, you'd get all your boys n do something about it too. that's pretty much what the enemy AI is doing by the sounds of it. I had this issue, I ended up building by frogs by a pond and only got attacked in the mornings, then I could work all day and nights were a bit more calm. By the beaches, they are easier to see and fewer in numbers, depending on what items are around you, keep in mind they spawn every day / game load, could help you in the long run to post up near some supplies and farm those. I just beat the story tonight, definitely going back to just screw around. Once you figured out the AI, the game is actually a lot less intimidating to explore and mess around in. I myself and a jumpy person so anything in the forest moving, I've shot at and killed, almost killed a follower one too many times. Anyway, I ramble... I thought they fixed this, so that when you kill them they leave you alone for some time.

I don't think it was really an issue, I you also may be working with an old save which could have played a factor into their aggression. If they were mad before the update and you load into your updated game, they are still mad from the previous version. I'd suggest either sleeping a few days in a new camp location and then returning to your main base, or just restarting, possibly using console to get you the items you would have lost, if you don't mind a break from immersion.

"There will now be less frequent enemy raids depending on how many regulars or creepies you have killed, this amount will increase over the days unless you kill more enemies"

The spawning has and Had never Something to do with the Location,it was Just random for everyone. Where people, on the Same place Had No spawning or too many. This WAS an issue, there where so many Threads about this.
And the Last Patch "fixed" this. There was even a thread, bickering that there are now too few enemys, Till a few Threads poped Up again about, again, too many enemys.

Killing them should slow them down, Not increases.
But with every fix they did, it got Back to "normal" very fast.

This is definitely not the case with my save games. Even if I ignore them, they attack me and kill me repeatedly.

After seeing all these comments, I'm convinced it has to be something I'm doing wrong, but I can't figure out what it is and what I do to piss them off so bad within the first 5-30mins of my new save game. I've tried not building on paths, I've tried completely ignoring them even though they attack and kill me multiple times, I've tried staying completely away from their camps. The only place they leave me alone is the snow areas.

The first ones that always attack me are the little crawly guys. Then by the evening, the guys with masks and weapons are running through my camp in numbers, 3-5. Day 2 or 3 if I haven't thrown the keyboard, the big red guys are coming. Its crazy.

Cutting down trees ♥♥♥♥♥♥ them Up. Someone Had once Made a list, where He Had Numbers and everything. It's somewhere in this Forum, but quite old xx.

Also, the spawning is Just messed Up.
I read that you can at least get somewhat rid of the muddies, when you clear Out the trees.

Sorry If you already did say this, but on what settings are you playing? Normal?

When you start a game you can choose difficulty. After what i read normal seems to be messed Up. Although i also Had waves of cannibals in Low, but that was some Patches Prior. Hadn't touched the game since then as it was so annoying i could build on the highest mountain and still Had cannibals and demons Spawn endlessy in the Cliff xx.

Also for the little crswly Guys, the muddies. Try to get one head from them. And when you See them, Grab the head and Show him. Don't Put him on a Stick. Or do and See how it works for you. I know from Friends that they are more interested when you Put them on Sticks, but get scared when you Show them while Holding the head yourself. But watch Out, Heads Like to clipp trough the ground xx.

Just the basic lean-to shelter so I can sleep and save and a fire. And yes, I play on normal. I tried putting heads on sticks hoping that would scare them but that didn't work.

I will figure it out I guess. Others are obviously not having this issue.

you could try building on the beach. I've never gotten any muddies there and they are the annoying ones. the trees are a pain though until you get the rope gun. Attacks aren't bad on hard survival, just put down some spikes and keep them between you and the cannibals and take them out with the bow.

Sure thing, I will try that. I haven't tried a beach base yet. Appreciate it

I wouldn't say this. This Forum is Just Not really active. Most people left after the First few dissapointing Updates.

One reason is you base may be near a cannibal camp, I get attacked in large numbers of up to 10 in hard mode, however me and my friend decided to do this to make the game a challenge. We are between 2 cannibal tribes.
So you may be near a cannibal camp and also the little crawly guys always follow you mostly atleast

It must just be random because of nonsense programming. I've played on many others servers,always joining hard, some there is nothing some many. On my dedicated and my friends personal game, we get invaded almost constantly like were playing a survival wave game. I've been hit with waves of 50+ tribals. I'm not sure how many because eventually i died . Not all 50 at once but at least ten or 20 at all times and after killing 50 is when i died. Simply ran out of ammo and you can only melee so many at a time. We also had at least 20 demons spawn on us one night. It literally ruined our game we had enough. By the time you got respawned they all ran to that base, impossible.
