The attachments to firearms...
Why tf would you ever cover up the iron sight with literally anything but another sight attachment? Serious oversight there, man.

Totally agree. Flashlight and laser site should be on a rail underneath the weapon. A scope or holo-site should be available to be top mounted. Also, a pin site and maybe a laser site should be available for the compound bow.

Someone made a mod to have the aim line from throwables added to bows.

there is a very small, nearly impossible to use, but you can see through it, hole/slot under the laser sight when its on top of the pistol... the same is not true for the shotgun or the crossbow tho, im pretty sure the laser sight is just for hip fire action i dont use it but i do keep it attached cause i like using all available slots on things lol

edit: what would be nice is if the aiming reticle actually showed up when i have the option turned on

They didn't think people would play long enough to get them xD

I have to agree. The attachments are kind of stupid. Optics go on top so you can aim, everything else goes on the bottom rail. The current attachments are kind of dumb. Why would anything be placed on the top rail so that it obscures the weapon sights and makes aiming impossible?

In fairness, the laser on top of the shotgun now means you can hip fire accurately. But you still can't aim when shouldering the weapon as the laser module obscures both the sights and the red dot....

Yeah this is something they need to rethink. They probably thought it would be a compromise; you get a laser sight for your shotgun to make hip fire more accurate but now you can't use the sights as a trade off. This is kind of a stupid way to handle it. And this also makes attachments useless for the Crossbow, since you can't even hip fire that weapon. The laser sight and flashlight just block the top of it and provide no benefit at all and also make the lack of a proper sight on the crossbow a more glaring issue since the rail is now useless.

it is either a bug or none of them actually have any knowledge on weapons

Considering they are working in the gaming industry with all the call of duty available they should know better...

laser sight and flashlight should be on the side since it is a pump shotgun.

and obviously under for the pistol.

Using Cod as an example for realism... eeeeh , shame on me.

I would accept a top-mounted red-dot. I have one on my Steven's Guide gun (.444 Marlin), or even a top-mounted laser that was bore-sited for accuracy, just like my Ruger MK-3 has, as the design of this makes mounting one on the trigger guard virtually impossible, and there simply is nowhere to put an underside rail, so this got mounted on top... but it doesn't cover the iron sights, you just have to look under the laser mount to use them, which actually works out much better than it sounds.

Took me 15 rounds to get the bore-sight exactly right, but totally worth the effort.

So yes, it's not always the best choice, but sometimes it is the ONLY choice.

Aren't they Canadian anyways? Not in the top 100 people I think of when I think of firearms or combat readiness.

depend where you are in Canada. I would say most people that live in cities do not have a lot of knowledge

Once you are out of cities there is a lot more hunters and canada is full of bears. So they 100% know how to use a hunting rifle or a shotgun.

If we are talking about automatic weapons, then i would agree.

We get it. Your a gun enthusiast. But splitting hairs over an extreme instance of how it might work irl does not apply here where it actually hinders gameplay.

I mean speaking from the pistol point of view, it only has one rail on the bottom which most people put the flashlight down there or a laser. The attachment rail for the pistol in the game has to be on regardless of the rail that was already on the pistol, that is stupid if you only want one attachment on, because otherwise it blocks the iron sights.

Man.. Canadian, or not, they're in the game business, and there are so many games out with firearms that have attachments being Canadian isn't an excuse. It would take literally 10 seconds of game play to realize, "Putting something on top of the iron sight is bad, eh?"

I can not imagine that when they put this stuff in, they didn't test it. If they tested it, and went, "Yeah, putting something in the way of how you aim is great. Good job everyone." That's just bad. It would also take about what... 25 seconds to google/youtube "attachments to firearms, and where to put them." I'm pretty sure any video wouldn't go... " Ok. Whatever you do, make sure you can't aim down the bead."
Acnogius Mar 14, 2023 @ 12:53pm
I hate the laser sight cant aim properly hahah
