Building sucks!

Half the time if not most, logs don't go where they need to or snap at all spent an hour trying to build a house and the roof was impossible to construct- the first game was so much better than this. I will NEVER build again. Waste of time.

The building is looking great because it's almost realistic BUT that some logs etc, doesn't get placed where it could be placed makes me furious too.. They should give us a bit more freedom for it. For example the new apex building is cool but what if you want to build stairs next to a wall.. yep, it makes them apex again or you have to trick the game somehow until it works.. You can literally switch the place direction when you build a floor, why not the same with the other stuff? Sometimes you get a red arrow to place a log where it was possible already.. That's irritating.. I hope so much it will get fixed next update.. It doesn't make much fun to build right now..

I can't say I didn't say this to myself when I started building more complex sh** either lol.

But once you actually figure all of it out, its super addicting honestly. I don't even touch the progression anymore, spending all my time just building sh**.

Give it a rest for the day & maybe check a vid or 2 tomorrow? I feel the statement, its worth learning about the ins & outs tho.

I think the building in this one, is fathoms better than The Forest. I hated building in that game. But you do need to mess around with things for like an hour to just figure out what all you can do. After that, it's pretty easy sailing.

I like how interactive it is but the building system is very limiting right now. You can´t even build proper roofs with inverted corner parts. I will wait until there have been some improvements before I try to build good looking houses again.

I think your main grip boils down to how un-intuitive it is when you try and do complex builds. You *can* do a lot with the build system, but the order you do things in is *really* important. And figuring you the order is the hard part.

Build like you are a 3D Printer, things will go much smoother.

Aka: Stumps then Foundation then Stairs then Walls then the Roof. (added step of removing all non-required support posts when you have the struts in place, also Walls can be done last too if you want to edit your build more easily.)
