I'm dying and then hit respawn and i will respawn underwater and keep immediately dying after i use the knife. The shark kills me right away.... I don't want to restart my game but idk what else to do... any tips?

Remember where is he from, avoid him as much as you can and swim to the island :>

So should i wait for him to come around then use the knife or is he just always hanging around?

You can try to kill him above the water maybe, but underwater you will die for sure
Craft a spear and kill him, do not throw the spear

If you have been in the rebreather cave and got the diving suite try to equip that if you can which makes you swim/dive faster. Other than that I am out of suggestions as much as previous poster was.

yea i've noticed this a lot too. u get like 5 seconds to swim away and then boom, ur toast. like, mutants get me at my base near the beach, and respawn under water... cut myself loose after i look around... and then BOOM, shark takes me out and it's re-load. it's frustrating and ridiculous...u have no chance :(

in water, no one will hear you scream.

Swim as fast as you can back to the island. Don't waste time fighting the shark.
