Yes I know. Better they would.
I personally like that she stays close and doesn't wander off. She brings you breakfast, brings you lunch, guards you while you're focused on building etc. Life is good.
That's why they ask for commands?
I mean, she literally walks INTO YOU. Kelvin at least just chills or you can send him do something. While she just exist to walk right into my face. She does not know what Private space means at all.
And don't come me with she is a "skittish cat", what is in itself already so problematic formulated(same with kelvin as dog). I have cats, and they are smart. They only come right at youre face when they want something. While virginia is just annoying. You can't even give her stuff to distract her...
My "stupid comment" was my opinion on the matter, it wasn't intended to help. I didn't try to silence anyone but you seem to want to silence me, which isn't going to happen. The thread is calling for the change of a feature I happen to like and I'm not going to let it sit here without throwing in my vote.
I read stupid comments that I don't find "helpful" on here all day long, you'll tolerate mine just as I have to tolerate yours. How about that?
Well it looks like you already found a solution.
Problem solved, now you can build in peace. I'm pretty sure that's why you are even able to kill her to begin with.
Edit: Not to mention you can prevent all this by simply not giving her a tracker. She will spawn near you in the evening and wander off during the day. Once you give her a tracker, she sticks around.
I don't want to kill a npc, just because the Dev's made her braindead.
And she does not have the tracker. I don't know why they wanders off in youre game(well, i could think about something but that would be mean to say) but for me she did not wander off. Quite the opposite, as i said, she knows no personal space. Is always super close expect for when she sits in the water or smashes her face into an animal or cannibal to eat. She even sleeps in my Base. So no idea from what you are talking.
And she focuses you all the time like a maniac like wth can I get a break maybe? Does she really need to be that clingy and do I have to have her breath down on my neck on every thing I do??
I think I will shoot her later in my game. I´m sick of this handholding bs.
Everyone means the same :)
I appreciate that she follows me sometimes and watches over me while working or traveling, or just takes care of business in one location whenever we have company while I'm away for a moment.
We were walking in the woods once recently, she pointed her gun straight at my face (it seemed) and fired, I turned and found a cannibal laying dead right at my feet. Practically on top of my feet.
I just work in such a way that they don't get in my way. Someone else may operate such that they are an annoyance. But it just isn't an issue for me. And managing Mr. K is a bit of an art too, which one must learn.
I initially didn't like the idea of these companions, versus having my solo survival challenge where no one is here to help, but it's not so bad and the experience isn't diminished. it's a different dynamic in that it is 'us' instead of just me, in a good way.
HI. My name is Kelvin. Do you come here often?

Yeah best not go there, you'll lose that battle. Let's try and keep it on topic before someone gets their feelings hurt, shall we?
Looks like you found a solution as well, enjoy.
