Stairs next to wall?
how? now that the patch added a way to fill triangles, it broke the ability to make stairs next to walls.

What you mean broke? It's been impossible, since EA launch you can't build stairs next to the wall, disappointing but it's true.

You could before. You build the stairs first and then the game let's you stack logs through one of the supports for the stairs. I haven't tried making stairs next to a wall after this update but I've seen more than one person say it's broken now, shame.

it is possible but you should know how to:

It is difficult to describe everything but the most difficult part at building a stair next to a wall is to place the wall next/under the stair or the stair into a wall.

I will post you some screenshots, will take some minutes.

edit: before the update it was easy. After the update you should know how to.

Watch Kage848's videos. He shows in detail how to do this.

I think you want to build structures like this:

You will face the following problem of this:

Here is how you want it to look like

The wall to the left should not be started.
The floor must be finished completly with 5 half logs. Only then it works.
Then you place the diagonal logs for the ramp.
Then you can place the wall under the stair logs.

Thank you for the detailed guide, but i still can't make them. no matter how i try

Either can I. It won't let me put in the diagonal log. Its like you have to build the stairs first before the building. If you already have walls up and remove a section, you can not get a diagonal arrow.

I know it can be frustrating. But I did it all the time like I posted. I believe you it wont let you do as you want to but you might oversee something.

The floor below the stairs has to be finished completly. Then it offers to place the logs correctly as a wall and not in a triangle.

I don't know man. Some things with this building system work and just don't work. Like my house for instance, I am not able to fill in all the apexes on my building. I couldn't get rid of one log that wasn't supporting anything so I had to destroy it, it somehow took down half my roof when no log was relying on it and others around it were supports. I've had my roof suddenly bend at an awkward angle into the floor of my house from removing one log. The devs just have to fine tune this stuff a bit more.

I got the same problem right now too at one point... Had to destroy one log that wasnt holding anything. And now I cannot make a normal wall at that position because of the roof. :(

This works for me but the floor boards need to be parallel with the wall your trying to place

I made a video last night showing how to do this same method. It works.

Dont put a long on the bottom. Do a slant, then add a stair then add your wall on top of the slant. THEN do a log on the bottom. Took me all day to figure it out. If you pre place the bottom log it stacks with the closed corner. If it shows a arrow it will cut it off. If it shows a white rectangle it will stack on the wall.

Thanks guys. I will try out later. Esspecially the thing with parallel is something I didnt check out yet.

There should be an option to build pre-structured stairs from a book. Or at least a ladder. Or even a rope attachment lol.
