SOTFEdit - A Sons of The Forest Savegame Editor

Hello everyone,
I've just published an open source savegame editor for the game. It currently supports the following features:

• Edit Player Stats (Strength, MaxHealth, CurrentHealth, Fullness etc.)
  
• Move Player to Virginia & Kelvin
  
• Edit Game Setup (Game Mode, Spawn Rate etc.)
  
• Edit Inventory (Add/Remove items, change quantities)
  
• Edit Armor Data (Add Armor Pieces, change durability)
  
• Edit Weather Data (Weather, Seasons...)
  
• Edit Game State Data (Playtime,..)
  
• Edit Storage Data (Unlimited Logs, sticks etc.)
  
• Edit Influences of Players towards Kelvin and Virginia
  
• Modify Virginias equipped items
  
• Change Virginias and Kelvins outfits
  
• Several experiments
  
• Revive Virginia & Kelvin
  
• Set stats for Virginia & Kelvin
  
• Move Kelvin & Virginia to Player or each other
  
• Regrow Trees selectively (All, Removed, Half-Chopped, Stumps)
  
• Backup changed files automatically
  
• ... more features are planned

I hit the .EXE and nothing happens. I'm on Win 10. Tried running as admin, and literally nothing happens. I don't even see anything in Task Manager when I try and run it.

Could it be related to any Antivirus or something? Else, you need to have .net 6.0 installed.

Might want to put some instructions for whats needed to run it on the GitHub page. For those of us unfamiliar with how mods work. Appreciate your work :)

Just putting this out there, be wary of running programs people link to from outside sources. It could be anything.

Don't turn your antivirus off.

Of course not, I have it running in a separate VM, and still nothing working..... There is a plan here ;)

I've published the source code on github so feel free to compile it yourself. I also wouldn't trust some random stranger on the internet :D

Moreover, I've added the requirements to the Readme on github.

Self-compiled applications are detected by some virus scanners, this is a well known issue for authors for ages as you as a small developer have no reputation.

I'll reach out to their moderators. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks for your hard work its super appriciated. Unfortunately NEXUS is a bit of a joke, I know they dont pick up keyloggers and stuff henche why tons of people got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up during the Cyberpunk stuff lmao

I've uploaded a new version on the Github Release page as well as Nexus Mods which does not embed the DLLs (and could be the reason for your issues). Could you try that one as well?

What is the difference between "Hard" and "Hard Survival"?

When I try to open it it opens but then it closes almost immediately. Do I have to put the files somewhere? (I downloaded and installed .NET 6 and I'm on Windows 10)
