I would take the time to set up a system of spikes and funnel them to it. They seem to be easy enough to taunt and they will path right into the spikes. They will then impale themselves on the spikes.

No solution. This is the game. I've had people tell me that if you make a base far away from camps it isn't frequent. Not true.

Best bet is to make multiple bases and run between them until you can get defense walls around one.

Raids become more frequent the more days you survive. I had hardly any before day 25 then after completing the bunker where silver jacket jumps in the water it seemed to trigger them more frequently. I now get at least 1 cannibal and one mutant attack a day. The mutant attacks are always the double ended somersault mutant that ignores walls and traps, that needs to be fixed asap.

Day 15. I've had probably 6 raids. I made my camp near the beach away from all of the camps. I do not understand people that say this.

It's the bunkers. Going into the bunkers with the boards over the entrance allows the mutants to spawn on the surface. You avoid them and you only get cannibal raids. In one of my saves it is day 37 and I have been avoiding the caves, no mutant raids.

I will say in my first few days it felt like I befriended the cannibals. I just followed the same rules as with Victoria and displayed the red mask when needed and avoided killing them unprovoked no matter how close they got. I had gold masks walk right up to me and grunt and walk off so there could be some kind of trick to the AI. Even now at 50+ days in I have large groups just walk past my base on their way somewhere else getting caught in my traps and everything and they ignore my base. Once you have the gold mask certain cannibals will worship you and bow down on the ground and throat sing a weird tune as well.

I'm assuming they despawn if you run away? If so smaller bases with ziplines, make the larger base where they can't reach like the lake that doesn't freeze

It does depend on the location.

I built one base by the beach soldier/pistol float and it was constant cannibals, all the time.

I built another one on top of the bunker cave and there were so many cannibals I could barely build.

I have a couple other bases - one on the Duck Lake island, and another near the dead pilot- and they only get attacked by the raids that spawn specifically to attack you. Once, maybe twice per day.

I wish I knew how to predict good and bad building areas, but AFAIK you just have to try to build different places and see which ones have lots of enemies nearby.

Oh another tip burn all cannibal bodies/body parts if you have to kill them anywhere on the map as soon as I just left bodies and or parts laying about not burning them raids became more frequent.

Sometimes, I just run away and most of the time, enemies lost interest in chasing me and attacking my base then I come back after a while.

If I have to fight, I make sure to have Virginia with at least a pistol to give assistance. Usually, killing 2 or 3 is enough to make cannibals back off. For creepy mutants, then it's more problematic and that's when I have to break out a shotgun.

hate to say it but if your having the same issue I did on launch the only solution is reinstall and start a new savegame. maybe just a new save without reinstalling but thats what I had to do. game was bugged all to hell. Way OP enemies that would take dozens of arrows before going down, melee was useless, and just a constant non stop raid that wouldnt end. Noticed after starting a new game that I also had a severe lack of wildlife. Saw more in the first 10 minutes of a new save, including animals i hadnt seen before at all, then I did in my 1st 15 hours of my 1st game.

i built a small starter base close to where i wanted to build (by water) just made a 2 by 2 with a flat roof with 2 drying racks on top. fire in the middle with 1 storage , and build a square wall around it about 1-2 log (your choice) lengths away. When 1 walls complete, take every second log out and put a spike with stones in place. Place some spikes away from your walls with enough room to comfortably walk and you should be ok. It's small so it doesn't take too long to build. I put kelvin on sticks, stones and fish.I cut down the trees for the strength gain.(you hit harder in combat)

If more attractive your base, the raids more often. If you playing like nomad, it gets less attention.
