How do you switch ammo with the shotgun?

I Have Slugs, how do I load them?

look at the ground with the shotgun equipped and you should get the option to rotate equipped ammo.

Also this is the same way ya switch ammo with the bow.

You can do this with the sling shot as well and switch between golf balls or small rocks. Not sure of the practicalities of that though.
