How to Resurrect Dead Kelvin
I logged into a dead Kelvin and here is what I did to resurrect him.

My GameStateSaveData.json Said that Kelvin was not dead. IsRobbieDead was false. However in light of Virginia wailing over his limp body, he was indeed dead.

In windows hit Windows+R to open the Run folder and type AppData.

Navigate to LocalLow > Endnight > Sons of the Forest > Saves > [your Steam ID] > Singleplayer (or Multiplayer)

Open up the most recently updated Save folder - it will have a random 10 digit folder name - just go by the newest one.

In that folder find the SaveData.json file and open with Notepad.

Ctrl-F to open the find window and look for \"TypeId\":9,\"FamilyId\":0,

This is Kelvins last save status. Change the \"State\":#value, to \"State\":2, - save and restart the game.

Here is the full example Kelvin save string

If you find any values set to "\NaN\" (for example Dead kelvin had his Affection set to that - you can reset it to 0.0

As always - save a copy of the file before you mess with it.

You can also use this info to move Virginia to close to Kelvin. Her TypeID is 10 so just change the search string to that and you can copy Kelvin's position to Virginia and I modifed the X coord a little bit so they were not on top of each other. And voila - Virginia was back in my camp and Kelvin was alive again.

Too much work. Im not messing with files within my computer. I hope the devs will somehow fix this so we wont have to dig around in files.

there is an achievement for finishing game with them alive so probably wont add a way to resurrect them your supposed to protect them.

Thanks. Good to know. So far both are still alive and well in my world. Ive injured Kelvin a number of times by accidentally throwing logs at him, but he survived. LOL

Can;t you just load last save if Kelvin dies?

Unfortunately my Kelvin was alive when I logged out and dead when I logged in so I'm guessing it was some sort of bug.

If you killed him or got him killed somehow, then that's how that worked out for you. They're not necessery to have. A bit weird and different, imo a both positive and negative feature.

I found a fix if anyone still can't revive him. It seems once he dies there is no longer a health value associated with him. so when you go to \"TypeId\":9 in the same line you'll see a few values, something like \stats\, and you have to add a Health variable manually
