Is it raining inside your cabin?
You can tell by the floorboards if they are getting wet as their colour is slightly darker, mine are fine and I am pretty sure the "thing" is well roofed, yet I can see it´s raining on my character as the screen constantly has water drops and during winter he gets wet if he steps away from the fire.

I just finished my roof on my base/log house, so next time I play and it rains, I will have to check into that.

Mine is like that. Built a roof and it's all covered but i still get wet. When it snows it says i am freezing in side my house but there is no snow in there.

Well to be fair you don`t need snow inside your house to freeze
