Building issues
Okey so i like to build big, and when u build big you find alot of issues. So the issues that have occured so far, Different parts of a structure need reinforcement but others dont even tho they are the exact same structures, Take this picture for an example. (Cant link so my the forest screenshot on my profile.

Some floors/roof tiles need 6 logs and others need 5. So they logs wont line up.

The building so far is really bad and i cant say i enjoy this game due to it. Sometimes u have to manipulate the game into thinking it can hold the structure. Since the logs itself wont update what it is holding unless you interact with it yourself. So it can tell you "you cant remove this log since its a holding one. Yet you can place one next to it. and then remove both of them? It makes no sence.

EDIT: another bad thing is the lack of rienforcing tilted roofs. If you have a flat roof you can place half logs to the standing logs to make the structure stronger and there for you can remove all logs under it in a 6x6 area. However. If you have a tilted roof you cant make it more than 2x2 without having logs under each tile

Your floors might not be even. Try placing 1/4 logs straight down into the ground and then make a grid of them for a foundation. This will ensure that your build is level and you'll avoid the auto level jankiness.

thats not true. I made a 15x15 sqare. built it up 4 logs with 2 layers of floor, and on the 2nd layer it had issues on some places to make it 5 logs per sqare and added an extra log

I really enjoy the building aspects of survival games and can spend hours just doing that. After experimenting and seeing this new system Iv'e decided to wait for more updates once it gets more fleshed out and it's not so buggy. I like the concept of it but it's currently quite limited and inconsistent for complex and large constructions. It's early access so I'm sure it'll improve, Endnight have a good track record.

I've seen this before too, it can be quite rigid where the struts are concerned.
From your screenshot, put the logs back then put a horizontal log on the top, redo the strut corners and you should be able to remove everything under it.

I will say this, if you're planning a multistory building, build all the supports all the way upto the roof, finish the roof then start strutting it and deconstructing downwards'

Id recomend you to do the screenshot build and lemme know once u get it to work since it is impossible :D As a challange :D

I actually found the building mechanics to be enjoyable. I was able to build a 2 story (technically 3 since both the 1st and 2nd floor use an extra half walls height) with very minimal issues and even was able to clear out a ton of the interior space after I was done so that I wouldn't have a pole in my face every 5 feet.

And as far as the angled roofs, I was able to easily do it for more then a 2x2 space.

All of this just sounds like you tried to speed build without planning out the reinforcing properly beforehand. Not trying to be mean, just stating what it's sounding like.

*edit* I will add photos to show just what can be done if you plan properly.

Id like to see your "planned more than 2x2 tilted roof" :D

I also added some more pics to explain the size since some people say "my 4x4 2 stories build worked great. I cant find an issue"

While yes, it is technically a 2x2 area, I also had to plan around a 4x4 area that included stairs whose incline uses the half logs, and a balcony along with a vaulted area where some of the logs supporting it were half to match the stairs while others on the same level would be full logs. So yes, properly planning is important.

It's not though, so you can stop being a ♥♥♥♥. Look where the bone chandelier is, Notice something missing where the logs meet?

Here's another angle. Notice even more stuff missing? (talking about support logs by the way)

https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2050864628062294854/DBA7D281BF7D9F3D0BC0AF1A8A9CEDBB4FC23D99/?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

Here is a hint, if someone is going out of their way to give you helpful advice, take it gracefully; they might know something you don't.

U have placed standing pilars on each tile of the house? what do u mean? Remove all the logs inside the walls and see what happens. Im not being a ♥♥♥♥, I just dont like people coming in being experts on stuff they have no idea what they are talking about. u screenshotted a 3x3 room with pilars in 3 of the 4 tiles. that makes the longest tile without a standing wood structure a 2x2.

Look at my last screenshot and tell me. how many standing wood structures can you see in the middle of the room. non. its an open 3x7 since its a flat roof. and you cant do more than 2x2 with tilted roofs without spamming the whole place with standing logs like you have

I HAVE LOOKED AT YOUR SCREENSHOTS. I TOLD YOU HOW TO FIX IT.

Hell, everyone here has told you how to fix it and you keep knocking what they are saying and acting like you know better. You obviously don't, or you wouldn't have made a post pretty much asking for help on how to fix it. So you know what? Figure it out yourself. I hope you break the wrong log, crash the game, and make your save unrecoverable. Deuces and blocked. I'm not wasting anymore time on someone who doesn't know how to take the help when its given.

For anyone else who actually needs help, go look at my screen shots. If you can't figure out how to get some of those designs to work, I'm more then willing to help those who LISTEN.

Still again. Non of your screenshots has ONE picture that does not have flat support under tilted roof. What im trying to tell you. YET AGAIN is that you cant support a tilted roof without having standing oaks. Yet you insist that you have figured it out... HOWEVER in every picture of yours.. your layers look like this... (TILTED ROOF... going down to FLAT ROOF and then support the FLAT ROOF...
