I also built a custom cabin, with 4 cells and a 2 sided slanted roof /|\ and that did stop the snow and was capable of sealing. But as soon as I build a single slant /| that would no longer stop the snow.
This needs to be fixed asap because at the moment building is just not fun if I cant end up with a functional building in the end.
Storm, rain and snow should be heard only slightly.
It should only give you partial protection. To get full protection they should take a page from Medieval Dynasty and have something to insulate your building.
It would give more use for the shovel, which you'd have to use to dig up mud or clay or something, and then use that mud or clay to fill the gaps between logs and planks and block the cold and rain.
Mud and leaves to make chinking or let you hang up tarps or animal skins or all 3 would dope
Tarps would be good. It would give them more use for the million you end up collecting. Then again, they should probably reduce the number of tarp spawns in the crates. If they reduced the tarps it might get too hard to insulate.
The leaves don't really seem to serve any real purpose. Even if they make leaf armor, you never seem to run out, so nobody is ever prompted to go into the inventory to check the number of leaves they have.
Leaves would probably be the best. The mud would give the shovel more use, and the leaves are easy to get, so it would add something to do without being too tedious and or hard to collect. Plus combining it could be another thing to craft, which people have been asking for and another structure to build in the base (some kind of bin to store it in).
Strange I have everything sealed off and no gaps whatsoever and yet I still get snow popping inside my base
