When I'm not looking at my base with custom buildings and all, I got about 40-50 FPS on GTX 1070.
Who said their 3090 is getting hot - check specs, mine 1070 the usual working temperature is about 80 degrees Celsius. Install some monitoring software and set warnings.
I bough Subnautica, Stranded deep, Raft and some more games for nearly full price before the final release as many people too. So it's normal practice. Believe me, there were games with WAAAY less content in start of their EA.
Tarkov, when it appeared in market available to buy, was called Alpha too, but price tag was nearly hundred of pounds. So 30 bucks is quite usual price.
And it's your choice to gamble on ea games for full price.
Download the latest dlss file.
Navigate to: SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Sons Of The Forest
Throw the new dlss file in there (backup the old file just in case nvngx_dlss.dll).
I had a 30FPS increase with the latest file, SotF is currently running an older version, for whatever reason.
Note this will only work on 20,30 and 40 series cards, while I had a huge leap with my 3070, my partner had no real change to FPS on her 2080super.
Its certainly worth a shot :)
3090
No issues at UW 1440p. By no issues I mean playable FPS on highest settings except fog turned down. And playable means 80+fps with rare dips below and more in caves.
