Tie cloth around trees to stop Kelvin from cutting them down

While it is funny that Kelvin can unintentionally grief your base by cutting the wrong tree down, it can also lead to potentially hours of lost progress.

I think a simple fix to this would be the ability to tie cloth around trees that you don't want Kelvin to cut down. Whether that be your treehouse or trees in a close proximity to your base.

Would also give an additional use for cloth which I feel like is not used enough considering the game gives you hundreds of them.

Yes, I also made the mistake of telling Kelvin to "clear the area" and he then chopped down the treehouse. NO KELVIN. BAD KELVIN.

Just place a ring of vertical logs around the tree so he can't access it

simple "fix" by the devs will do the trick its unity just change the tag when marked with cloth

That definitely works but it can also make your base look ugly having a bunch of trees surrounded by wooded pillars.

If anyone does try the ring of logs trick be really careful cause Kelvin will try his best to get to the tree. I have seen him quantum tunnel through the logs to chop a tree I was trying to keep.

Yeah, even with the ring method he seems to still lock-on to those trees which means he wont collect logs anymore.

I did the log ring trick, tested it with my axe to see if i could still chop down the tree through the barrier. Thought to myself 'its foolproof!' then Kelvin just glitched through the wall and chopped down the tree. Thankfully i hadnt built anything on it yet, but the time spent setting up the log wall was useless.
