Craft rope from vine
You know how sometimes when you first hit a tree, it makes for instance vine fall or snow fall in winter? How about when you hit a tree that has vine on it, you get 1 vine added to inventory. You can store up to 10 vines, and when time comes, you can combine utility knife with 1 vine to craft 2 ropes from it. That would make rope more consistently available across the map and would encourage building more in order to craft bone armor.

2 ropes seems a bit high for a single vine. but a rope recipe would be nice.

IDK I think at the rate the armor gets destroyed it isn't that far fetched to carry a bit of backup rope. Give more uses to vines and it would become a compromise between extra rope or other uses. Maybe it could require a rope making station? I did mention before that I would like to see more reasons to setup camp and not just roam through the entire story, so a rope making station would be really cool I think. With an antique type of hand operated rope maker, and a rope storage shelf thing.

where does one get vine in a Forrest? in green hell you are in the amazon plenty of vine every where! in this we are blessed with cannibals that over the years have collected a lot of cloth rope is easy to make out of cloth ! inmates have good examples of using bed sheets as very long and strong climbing ropes!

in the first game you could craft rope from cloth. needed 7 cloth for 1 rope. but rope was more rare location wise and only found in fixed places in the first game and you could only carry 4 at once.

here its 10 and rope is now found everywhere. this is why there is no recipe. its so common there is simply no need for it. going out and picking up 10 ropes doesnt take long here. loot is everywhere in masses.

Vines grow in ever climate. it was the main way of making rope and jute in ancient rome and celtic world. I'm not talking of Tarzan swinging type of vines, for instance thorn bushes are a type of vine, and so is ivy. I'm like 90% sure I've run into visual vines in the game already they just don't count as an item yet, just a visual effect when getting a tree rid of the overgrowth on top of it before chopping it down.

Rope is only plentiful in this game if you go out and take risks of getting attacked (which defeats the point of stocking up on armor at home in preparation for fights), or if you abuse the save and reload exploit. We definitely need a crafting recipe, and I think the vine option takes care of making rope craftable from anywhere not just camps and rope spawn locations.

They want people to go out and take risks. I do hope they spread the rope spawns out more as they develop the game. They had this system in the first game and people would just stock up on cloth and have infinite rope because you could have infinite cloth. At the least, I would say carrying a max of 6 vines and 2 vines = 1 rope in case you need to make armor quickly in a fight

But that's it. Hopefully they make armor more useful too

Well yes but you still need the bones to use the rope lol. Still have to take risks, but not for items that spawn rarely and not throughout the map. I do not see how they could make rope more available everywhere on a wild island without putting camps literally everywhere. The only solution is crafting it. Doesn't take away the need for bones to make armor.

Hm, I'm always vote for craft options, usually, but here ropes are quite abundant. In cannibal camps are ropes lying in plain view, plus double ropes are usually found in coffins, which are also found in cannibal camps or buried. Been crafting tenths of bone armor and can't say I feel the need to make my own ropes. But yeah, why not.

and some poop talk poop to me that rope is common when I literally said it rare. a s s. Yea I want more rope too. I have to like build near camp of them to raid for their rope soo crafting them out of cat tails or something strong fiber would be nicer

Yes it is a good thing to open option to have different playstyles. When you are out of armor on day 100 on hardest difficulty, it's gonna do you great that the cannibal camp nearby has rope LOL :steamfacepalm:
The point of setting up a base is to become self reliant and endemic. Otherwise just live in a tarp or the camps you find along the way. That's an option too, just not the point of this post.
