here its 10 and rope is now found everywhere. this is why there is no recipe. its so common there is simply no need for it. going out and picking up 10 ropes doesnt take long here. loot is everywhere in masses.
Vines grow in ever climate. it was the main way of making rope and jute in ancient rome and celtic world. I'm not talking of Tarzan swinging type of vines, for instance thorn bushes are a type of vine, and so is ivy. I'm like 90% sure I've run into visual vines in the game already they just don't count as an item yet, just a visual effect when getting a tree rid of the overgrowth on top of it before chopping it down.
Rope is only plentiful in this game if you go out and take risks of getting attacked (which defeats the point of stocking up on armor at home in preparation for fights), or if you abuse the save and reload exploit. We definitely need a crafting recipe, and I think the vine option takes care of making rope craftable from anywhere not just camps and rope spawn locations.
But that's it. Hopefully they make armor more useful too
The point of setting up a base is to become self reliant and endemic. Otherwise just live in a tarp or the camps you find along the way. That's an option too, just not the point of this post.
