Controller Needs Some Work
I'll start with a disclaimer that no, I don't play this on keyboard and mouse. My roommate and I were excited about this game because of the controller support because we like to sit on the couch to play. The game is totally playable as is on controller, it just needs some more work.

1.) There's no way to cycle through your quick slots. I don't know if this is an option on keyboard and mouse, but I know in the first game there were the 1,2,3 number slots you could do. I was anticipating something similar to that in this second game, maybe something like 7 Days to Die where you can use the bumpers to cycle back and forth between your quick slots. That'd already be a MASSIVE improvement.

2.) Going off of that, items don't like to stay equipped. If I come up out of water, or if I come up from being downed, my hands are always empty. And that's a lot of fun when I'm suddenly standing in the middle of 10 cannibals or cave dwellers because, per #1, there's no way to quickly select my stuff. Also, if I pick up a stick or a pebble, it auto-equips them in my hand, and when I hit B to put them down and hit B again to re-equip my axe, nothing happens. I don't even pick the pebble/stick back up. So, stuff just isn't staying equipped.

3.) The bag. The bag is really struggling. I'm talking about pulling out your backpack, not opening your entire inventory. I had had a game-breaking glitch one time where I pulled the bag out and got stuck, like I couldn't even select the menu or anything. I had to hard close the game and reload. That's scary to deal with so I try to stick to just using my inventory, but on the occasions I do use my bag, it's still struggling. The weapons sit on the far side, and when I try to move my cursor over to select one of them, it'll go just long enough to highlight what I'm trying to select, and then the cursor IMMEDIATELY snaps back to the center of the backpack. The bag is meant to be faster to access than the inventory, but when you have to try 5-6x to select your weapon, you might as well not even try. So I don't.

4.) There are no controller settings to increase the cursor speed inside the inventory. So, because I don't like to use the bag because it's super glitchy, I try to use the entire inventory. But that cursor moves slower than my dead great grandma. It would be nice if there were a way to turn up the sensitivity of that menu.

5.) There's no way to get rid of the radio on controller because it's a utility. I don't personally have a need for it because my multiplayer friend is literally 2 feet beside me, so it'd be nice to remove the radio. The radio itself takes a hot second to load up which causes a fairly significant lag in my game, and it can get aggravating because I always activate it on accident while trying to just put away my GPS.

I'm really hoping to see some improvements for controller before the game is finished. These aren't deal breakers and can be worked around with some patience, but it's definitely hindering immersion and fun.
