Will the next update have dedicated servers?

I'm so tired all my friends have crappy internet and the host has a huge ram and cpu usage, it's unplayable in multiplayer for me, you guys think the next update will add dedicated servers? And why isnt this feature in the game since release, peer to peer is so bad.

No one knows since there is no Roadmap. No one knows when or if this poor game will get more content or changes. All just assumtions and no one could tell you the real answer. Apperently there is a FAQ or QaA somewhere. You might be lucky and find an answer there but other than that no one knows what will happen to this trash

Because LaOldi's is not at all useful and just his personal feelings put as facts, let me try a better and objective answer: Pretty sure it won't. Developers have confirmed in a Q&A session that they are working on it in the background, but cannot confirm any ETA. I literally said the same as you. Only you gave your own opinion ("probably not") to the Mix instead of sticking to the facts ("no one knows").

That's a pessimistic way of looking at it. it's already been said there will be more content to come in many different forms. And if we're to look at the Studios history with The Forest, when it was what, just 2 people or something? That had a lot more added to it over time.

Generally it's always best to look with hope upon a studio that has so far, delivered on past projects.

There is pessimism, optimism, realism and naivity. I was naive to buy this in early access even tho it was delayed multiple times and shouldn't even be in early access. I am pessimistic because this game is so bare bone that it will at least take one or two years to make it a good game. I am realistic about the fact that without a Roadmap we know nothing about what will come and when to expect it but I am also optimistic because I enjoyed the forest and know what these guys are capable of. But the forest took a long time in early access and I am not going to be naive again and think this will come out of early access very soon. And if it would come out of EA sooner than later it will still be a ♥♥♥♥ game.
Generally just disappointing that this game is a step backwards. Expected more after the delays and the long time. But we will see.
Anyway I am not lining up with the people who enjoy cutting down trees for five hours a day and call it a good game.

Not only dedicated servers, but also flying ponies with rainbows and stuff, yay.
