Put a stick down, put rocks underneath, then use a axe to push it away from you and sharpen the end, that pointy end will do infinite amount of damage to anything walking into it, you can lose several chunks of armor being hit 3-4 times in a row walking into one.
Putting a stick down obstructs the log placements and such, so it's not easy to work with. You'd have to place down log foundations first, then try to stick it after, but sticks can collapse if the player walks into them before reinforcing.
Also getting stone is a pain for a lot of these, you need 3 for each punji sticks basically, and this is where Kelvin comes in, just make 3-4 stone holders in a safe area and let him do his job while you work on the base elsewhere.
Doors have a "frame" two vertical logs and a cross log on the top.
Place a second log directly behind one side of the frame (vertical post) on the inside.
When you want to secure the door, place a diagonal log from the top of the second post and it will angle down across the door preventing it from opening.
It's a PITA but it works. You can place a log holder right next to the door to make it neater.
do not build a base. its pretty much pointless with the limited options that are currently there. wait for updates before doing it.
the game has so many fixed places to sleep and rest and hide in and you can also always setup a tarp at anytime.
food is found everywhere. and survival mechanics are turned off by default and dont even harm you if you fully ignore em. most people arent even aware of this. wasnt the case in the first game. and water is also so easy to get now that you no longe rneed water collectors like before.
The answer to that is build a base because you like actually playing the game instead of Leroy Jenkins - ing the end. Level up. Get op. Blow up enemies and toy with them. Build traps and get creative with new trap designs and layouts to fool enemies. Have some laughs.
Sure anyone can bum rush the end. It isn't even bragging rights so I don't know why so many insist on doing it. That is pretty much any game. Let speed runners be speed runners. That's rather boring imo.
"hurr durr you dont play like i do and just fool around and thus youre SPEEDRUNNING the game and that is wrong". thats you. right there.
none of what i said has ANYTHING to do with speedrunning. nothing. or rushing. it took me 30 hours to see everything in this game. thats anything but RUSHING it. its simply PLAYING the game normally. i simply played. i looked around. i tryed out the build system. i looked for new tools to use. i explored the few pois on the map. i ventured into caves. playing like that is not speedrunning. not even close. a speedrunner would just stick glitch into the final bunker and end the game.
and guess what people can like just playing the game like that too. sure you can build a base. you can fully ignore the rest of the game doing so. but dont act like anything but the way you choose to spend your time is "rushing the game" as thats just pathetic.
All I got out of that was hurr durr and pathetic because I don't like the stuff in the middle. But I didn't bum rush what you said. You can read that how you like.
Thanks Endnight.
It does not work for me
I only see how to put a bolt on a fence door, but not on a door in the house.
