HOTKEYS

I couldn't make this work. Then with help, I figured out why. It's for the numbers across the top of the keyboard...not any other key nor the number pad.

I think that having hotkey capability in general, and rekeying capability in general...is contradicted by this limitation.

If I have to stop and look for the right key at the top of my keyboard, it defeats the purpose...at least for me, though maybe not for everyone.

With my rekeying, my primary 'helm' of gameplay is the number pad, and the arrows and a couple of other buttons in this same area. This is so i can keep my hand in the same place and press buttons without looking (in the way that works for me versus in the wsad area), except for the various other ones which mostly aren't requiring fast timing to utilize.

If we are getting hotkeys, and also have rekey...i need to be able to hotkey something to any key, not just a limited part of the keyboard (as long as I consider what keys already serve another function of course).

Will this be changed eventually?

Go into options and replace Hotkey 6 with the letter V on the keyboard. Then you can bind any item to the V key. Is this what you mean?

Ok, i went into settings. I didn't know that we now have buttons called hotkeys IN THE SETTINGS. WTH? I thought your post was meant to be a rude joke. It sounds nonsensical without knowing that they added hotkeys IN THE SETTINGS.

But...binding an item to the V key doesn't help me at all. Yes, i'm wanting to use the number pad. That's what my op says.

That you can freely assign your keyboard layout according to your wishes. The hotkeys are not tied to the number keys 1-9.

Then you go to the options under keyboard layout and exchange e.g. key 6 for numpad 6. Then you still have to open the inventory, hover over the desired item with the mouse cursor and press numpad 6. Sorry if I'm unclear, but I'm using google translator.

That seems bizarre. In inv, i'd hover over an item, press a key, and it's hotkeyed to it. Except I have to do some extra thing in settings with what I choose to be each hotkey first? Who came up with that!
