In the mean time, I recommend using the rope gun to set up a zip line system to transport logs.
It just crossed my mind... there is a sled in the 3d printer... has anyone printed one yet and tried to either place or drop logs onto it and then, oh, what would you with it? Pull or push it?

The ropegun isn't even as much efficient, considering you waste time to set the line, then need to carry the logs over to the line and load it on it.
Not to mention the hussle to get the ropegun if you start a new game and need to go on the mutant infested and overcrowded caves, instead of something that you can simply craft.
only thing you can do with the sled is ride it, and you cant even ride it down rivers unless the water is shallow enough
the idea is you can pick up the line and redo it when you clear the area.
run the line from your base to the middle of the area you want to harvest... you can throw the logs from the area twords the zipline pole and then send them all down the line very quickly.
once that area is cleaned out, remove the old zipline, plant a new pole in a new area and run a new zipline... takes about 30 seconds.
if you place log holders under where the logs pop off the line... they will catch the logs and autostack.
you can also build near a stream of running water and toss logs into the water and catch them with a dam where you build your base. you can walk upstream and pick the edges clean tossing the logs into the water and when you go back you'll have them all piled up in one spot.
you can also order your deaf/mute friend to "fill holders" with logs anytime you go on an adventure or looting.
adapt and overcome.
they flipped and clipped into the ground a lot
But it was funny to see
If you cut a tree down and it fell on one it'd sometimes launch it to Orbit
The Log Sled was extremely buggy and game breaking when it was first released in The Forest and still has quite a few issues especially when pushed up/down slopes and against geometry. There is still no way to recover them if they end up underwater, and it's still possible to clip out of bounds using it.
However, I do think it would be pretty nice to have in Sons of the Forest, or at least an alternate option. I was thinking it would be cool if instead of breaking into logs immediately when chopped down, the tree stayed whole and you were able to drag the entire thing where you needed it to go, and then cut it into individual pieces in the location you wanted it. It would save a lot of time and would provide a way to move a lot of logs at once.
