Where are log sleds??
How is something so useful from the first game no longer in the 2nd game. only being able to carry 2 logs at at time makes the building aspect tedious and boring at best.

I believe they didn't carry it over because it was a very mechanically buggy tool. But maybe they will end up bringing it back with all of the players asking if it will make a come back.

In the mean time, I recommend using the rope gun to set up a zip line system to transport logs.

I don't remember any bugs you could build multiple of them and they cut down massively on transport time of logs leading to more time building.

Log sleds are in The Forest. Duh.

Really annoying that there's no log sleds, hopefully they bring it back but with improvements over the first like a better design that let's us have more logs, also less bugs too.
If you make a zipline you can send logs up and down them, also, if you are based near a river you can throw logs down the river and they'll flow in the direction the water is going. We built a damn/bridge to catch the logs and a zipline going from the dam/bridge to out base right onto 12 or so log holders.

It just crossed my mind... there is a sled in the 3d printer... has anyone printed one yet and tried to either place or drop logs onto it and then, oh, what would you with it? Pull or push it?

Id rather use a Travois. Easier to build, less resources, ultra customizable and light. Can be pulled by you or an animal, even dogs.

It's to slide from the hills and makes you invincible, but i barely use it anyway so it's completely useless feature, i wonder what they think of adding such thing instead of some life changing stuff, but maybe they add that later.
The ropegun isn't even as much efficient, considering you waste time to set the line, then need to carry the logs over to the line and load it on it.
Not to mention the hussle to get the ropegun if you start a new game and need to go on the mutant infested and overcrowded caves, instead of something that you can simply craft.

put the game on survival mode and you will starve to death and dehydrate to death and sleep deprivation before completing that journey with 2 logs.

only thing you can do with the sled is ride it, and you cant even ride it down rivers unless the water is shallow enough

the idea is you can pick up the line and redo it when you clear the area.

run the line from your base to the middle of the area you want to harvest... you can throw the logs from the area twords the zipline pole and then send them all down the line very quickly.

once that area is cleaned out, remove the old zipline, plant a new pole in a new area and run a new zipline... takes about 30 seconds.

if you place log holders under where the logs pop off the line... they will catch the logs and autostack.

you can also build near a stream of running water and toss logs into the water and catch them with a dam where you build your base. you can walk upstream and pick the edges clean tossing the logs into the water and when you go back you'll have them all piled up in one spot.

you can also order your deaf/mute friend to "fill holders" with logs anytime you go on an adventure or looting.

adapt and overcome.

Stop exaggerating, you can go very long time without food and water.

they flipped and clipped into the ground a lot
But it was funny to see
If you cut a tree down and it fell on one it'd sometimes launch it to Orbit

The Log Sled was extremely buggy and game breaking when it was first released in The Forest and still has quite a few issues especially when pushed up/down slopes and against geometry. There is still no way to recover them if they end up underwater, and it's still possible to clip out of bounds using it.

However, I do think it would be pretty nice to have in Sons of the Forest, or at least an alternate option. I was thinking it would be cool if instead of breaking into logs immediately when chopped down, the tree stayed whole and you were able to drag the entire thing where you needed it to go, and then cut it into individual pieces in the location you wanted it. It would save a lot of time and would provide a way to move a lot of logs at once.

Kelvin, the rivers and the Zipline gun are the new log sleds.
