[POTENTIAL SPOILER]
I'm just sitting here wondering... Are that father/son duo Eric and Timmy Leblanc?

Near the end of the story, in one of the interest point caves, there is a father/son duo that is fighting a Sluggy. The father ends up being shot, and the son joins you in the ending sequence.

Just wondering if we're meeting both ourselves and our child, from The Forest. :)

Yes. They are timmy and the protag from 1. You are in Site 2. The 1st game took place in Site 1.
