Virginia .. Pistol or Shotgun?

Both weapons have been very useful to me so far, and I've read that Virginia is great with which ever weapon you give her.

So, a choice is to be made.

What do you think?

both if you have to choose though id say pistol so u have ur shotgun for oh sh moments and the big guys since shes not reliably around all the time.

Well, there is that, but I don't have anything better than either of them at this point in the game, so I want to keep one for myself for now.

Yeh, they're my only two weapons of the type for now, when I get something better, then yeh, she can have both.

.. and really, yep, as soon as I got the shotgun and was heading somewhere, got jumped by about 7 cannibals, and it was SO satisfying having the shotgun :)

No she doesn't need ammo and there are two of both of the guns in game, so giving either to Virginia doesn't make you lose them for the rest of the game

Ah, so when I give her either of the guns, I can go back to their source location and pick them up again?

Give both. once they're out of your inventory the will respawn, alternatively there are multiple spawn locations for the pistol/shotgun. She can kill the worst mutants faster than you can and has unlimited ammo.
you can always give one and then go get a new one, then give the other and repeat.

Remove the attachments before you give them to her.
They get deleted.
I lost the pistol rail and suppressor.

Be sure to save and reload from menu after giving your weapons. This will fix two bugs. One is that she will toss back your guns if you use your back pack to select items, and two is that it will fix the shotgun and pistol attachment bugs, allowing it so that your new guns can use attachments and said attachment will not disappear.

And yes, Virginia has unlimited ammo.

Fantastic .. definitely going to give her both weapons when I play later.
