I hate the idea of having to need support beams literally everywhere

You do not need them in every corner of a square. After you finish roof, try to remove anything you want to. Some of them will be loose and removable. I built 2 stores high house, and it allowed me to remove some beams even in the middle of 4x4 squares that I could to hang a skull candelabra in center of it corners.

Stick a 1/2 log as a diagonal support beam for every wall log supporting the roof. Bam, can remove any inner supporting logs in the middle of the floor. I do not believe there is a size limit to this.

I try to remove them but I get the X and it does nothing

I'll play around with support beams, hopefully I can think of something

If it shows X, then it is holding something. I was trying to remove some too, destroyed with X and what was above them fall down.

Funny thing is it was exactly the same on the other side but couldn't figure out what was different
