beach and that snow mountain, but prepare starving, no water nearby + foods

Avoid building near pathways and anything remotely next to a camp. No matter where you build, you'll be harassed a little. Build in the most out of the way places, that are inconvenient asf. Basically.

The safe base will be in the cave, you can build a stick bed for the safe game there and keep anything inside, but when time passes you will be bored, try challenging it by building anywhere to protect everything coming it is the most fun from Sons of the Forest.

I tried building on the golf course but ferals run an absolute muck there, zero down time from them. tribal ones dont bother me i let them stay around unless they attack first. in coop with my friend im on the lake, cannibals do come but its not much an issue

Yes just as in the previous game, if you can get something out in the middle of water they tend to not mess with you at least as much, you still get the ones that try to jump, also have had the double headed crawler type actually chase me into the water.

beach seems to be safest location i have found since no patrols and they only come when you have made a bunch of noise or killed some

Mutants don't care much for water it seems, cannibals can't pathfind.

If Kelvin can't follow you, then Npcs can't also.

Look for water where you can build but enemies can't travel around, like huge rivers.

Build on the water using small platform blueprint, and make your entrance with a zipline on the 2nd floor with no doors on the first. I recommend building a platform that they can spawn on close to land with traps on it so you can avoid getting attacked when you try to sleep. Also if they fall off the platform they will drown. Its best to do this in the ocean so that the water won't freeze in the winter. To clarify, you want the spawn platform to be closer to land than your base so they don't spawn in your base when you sleep. If your swimming animation is active in the water thats where you know they'll drown

If you don't want your house being attacked, build slightly off shore on the north end of the island near a cave that's there. As long as you're beyond their running distance into the water, you're completely free from being attacked. You'll also be able to zipline trees down to your pad pretty easily as the shoreline with trees isn't very far away.

Uh, Don't do what I have done defend your house using grenades and exploding arrows it may effectively neutralize the enemy but it also may obliterate everything you have built... woo hoo

I used console commands to build a base out at sea once, as I noticed that after spending days and days building on a tiny uninhabited island that had nothing but rocks and sand, they started spawning there incessantly after I had almost finished the base.
