How do you befriend virginia?

She's approached me and kinda stares at me then runs away do i need to give her a certain item?

Nah, she just needs a few days of coming up to you to get use to you. I'm not sure if there's anything specific to increase friendship, like killing enemies she points out if they are near, but after like 2 or 3 days, she'll just start bringing you things and becomes your friend.

-First the first few days she'll come by curious about you... do not carry a weapon when she approaches you or you approaches her
-Never runs towards her... running = something bad happening and you're scared, so She gets scared
-after a few days she'll come to you and Cannibals will attack at the same time, kill the cannibals, save/protect her... she'll leave again
-once she comes back she wont be much scared of you... and you'll be able to access her backpack and give her stuff... at this point you should've found the pistol, gps tracker or the Camo Gym outfit... give her either or both or all 3 (sure you lose your pistol, but you can pick it back up again by going back to where you found it and take it again)
-with the gun she'll befriend and stay around your base, pointing cannibals once they appear, and shooting them (she has infinite ammo regardless the weapon you give her)
-make a fire and maintain it, she'll mostly stay near the warmth... make a chair near she'll sit there most of the time.

even with a huge base, my Virginia never came inside the base... dunno why... no path finding for AIs maybe? But Cannibals did... often!

Now she's befriend... sometimes she'll follow you in adventures... some times she'll go on her own... going on her own she'll come back with Gifts: food, plants... if she joins you in adventures.. this is the worst... she does help with fighting the cannibals but her AI sucks and she'll sometimes sidetrack and loose you and just stays put in the middle of nowhere until you go pick her back up... i lost her for several days 'cuz of this... she doesnt follow in caves or bunkers so if the caves has a different exit... you lost her, you need to go and pick her back up and go back to base... from there hopefully she stays put...

Later do give her a shotgun... she's GREAT with a shotgun... Have fun!

I noticed the more the cannibals hate me the more Virginia loves me.
