Enemies will start to randomly spawn inside your base though and even small animals will keep triggering your traps forcing you to reset them like every few seconds (those damn suicidal squirrels everywhere).
Calvin also keeps getting stuck on every single wall and keeps trying to squeeze through the tiniest gaps, while Virgina's pathfinding seems to be alot better and once you befriend her and give her a pistol and a shotgun (she uses both simultaniously), walls are no longer needed anyway since she appariently underwent extensive special forces weapons training and headshots everything. Bigger mutants like the long spaghetti monster worm thingy will just glitch and spazm through structures and the ground though and are really buggy at the moment and impossible to hit with melee weapons without getting killed.
Something like a drawbridge, a wooden portcullis or even something as simple as the ability to put a log on the door blocking it from opening would be very welcomed for the future though, which could actually work pretty well with the new crafting system.
