LIFE HACKS!
Here's some life hacks I found playing the game:

-Spoiled Meat? No problem! Clean it! Drop your spoiled meat in a river or lake or ocean... and your meat will turn back into fresh Raw Meat! (confirmed working as a client in a MP game, host for some reason tho his spoiled meat didnt clean itself for some reason). have not tried in a single player game... anyone can confirm?

You are tired of Cannibals attacking you?

-Ultimate Defense: those pointy sticks angled outward, make 3 lines of those around your base... Cannibals will stop attacking you DEFINITELY. They cannot pass. And abandon the hope of attacking you. Build a base... and first do a line of those pointy sticks pointing outward (take a stick, plant it standing on the ground, take the ax and sharpen it while angling it outward). Once you have circled your base, in front of those spikes... do another line... and a 3rd one... after having 3 lines of those spikes... Cannibals completely stopped attacking us completely. They can jump the first set of spikes but they land on the second and die in one shot. the 3rd line is just for the monsters. Now the ONLY monster that can still attack you are the Slinky looking one, they can pass over the 3 lines of spikes but they get overly damaged by them so by the time they make it inside your territory, they are nearly dead... OH and dont worry about Virginia or Kelvin... they do not get affected by those... they WALK over them no problems.

-RUN! Unless defending your base, there's no need fighting Cannibals in the forest... its a waste of ammo and effort... they'll keep re-spawning around non-stop... so best to save up on health ammo, stamina and energy fighting wild ones... just run pass them, they stop chasing after few meters... Just RUN!

-Overwhelmed by Cannibals? Swim! Find a river or lake, something to swim... they will not chase you or they'll drown. Water save Lives!

I did noticed the river carrying the logs, was nice to see that mechanic... but playing in Coop with 4-5 other friends... We had SO MANY different log duplication glitches by accident... trying to build our base we accidentally hit like 5 different Logs duplication glitches randomly... we never ran out because of those...

- Always tell Kelvin to "clear" rather than get wood. He will tear down an entire forest for you within a day and you will only have to collect the logs.
This will allow you to build entire custom homes in no-time.
- Use the drying racks.
Just put meat on them, come back when they're dried and you now have unspoilable food which you can just bring everywhere.

you dont even need to clean the food just recook it and its fine. My drying rack doesnt seem to dry my food but i can use it to store meat and it never spoils while hanging .

How? just drop a big uncut log on top of the fire?

you can stack logs on top of each other to store them more efficiently then the log holder.
stack them has high as you can and then add a slanted log, climb it and keep stacking!

Did you turn off structure damage?
Fire based light source "fuel" counts as structures.
Turning off structure damage essentially makes it infinite "fuel".
