Alright. And the host just hosts the game again, lets their friend join like the first time and continues the game. right?
It loaded a very very very early save or even a differant save of his from a differant game. It really narked him off that he now just quit.
I hope they fix this bug as well, as right now it is a multiplayer game breaker, nobody wants to lose several hrs gameplay or start from utter scratch again.
there is no endlight/sonsoftheforest folder in my appdata saved games folder listed
Not sure if this helps with your issue, but might be worth checking out.
To find the save files write %appdata% in the windows toolbar go to locallow/ endnight/saves - and find the multiplayerclient folder where your saves should be located if you have any
Now i have sent him 2 saved files but he still loads back to (basically) a new character or one of teh 1st save games we did :( its narked him off and now he wont play MP mode till it gets fixed since if its going to lose progress like this whats the point, i have to agree with him too.
have saved like 20 times but only 4 saves are there 3 from today and 1 from yesterday, sent him the save when we came out of a cave (after obtaining harpoon zipline gun). and the save before entering that cave of 1hr before yet he still seems to load back with nothing even though he has deleted what was in his save folder so the only saves there were the ones i sent.
Until we are sure such issues are fixed, this is the best practice. Generation Zero went through a bout where you'd just randomly lose save files. On a progress game where you're acquiring skill levels being busted back to 1 is pretty brutal. In sons, you acquire a great deal of items through various caves, so this can be just as bad. Save file backup isn't a bad practice in general, though I"m pretty bad about doing it myself.
Don't know if this will work for others but it worked for me!
look at the date....
Many many many patches came out in a while...
