Respawn character
Is there any setting to respawn infinately in single player just like in multiplayer? Restarting the game or saving and reloading all the time seems more like a chore than actually bringing any more difficulty or gameplay. My thinking is that the less time you spend in some menu or loading screen, the more time you can enjoy the game.

You will more than likely not like my answer (because you want modified single player), but I'll give it a try and hope you can see it as possible solutions.

1. Go peaceful mode.
2. Change settings to have less threat etc.
3. Start a Multiplayer session with 2 players and friends only and just play that solo.
4. Learn to not die.

Last one was a cruel joke on your expense ;)
