Otherwise, not much point at the moment. Maybe in the future there will be time locked events or changes to things that makes hunkering down more important. I certainly hope so.
Having plant potters make virginia visit / stay around more often
Some Still come in because of the Teleport Bug, but the Game had not even the first major Update, so maybe its fixed after that.
An good option for an first Base is one of the non boarded Caves, where Enemys cant follow you (K & V can't enter as well).
I havn't test if you can build there, but I guess the Caves will work and the Lab with the 3d Printer has even a Bed for you.
Didn't you play The Forest?
Bare bones survival, unbalanced/easy combat and very easy to cheese.
But the build system is where it's at.
If you want a game with seiges on your base or dangers that you can't just run and hide in a cave from, The Forest/SotF won't give you that and likely never will.
We begged and begged for those kind of things in The Forest early access and nothing ever came of it.
...Well, it's supposed to keep you free from enemies but at the moment there's pretty much no way to prevent them from getting in.
we builded a base and we are constantly under attack, mutants glitch though walls and cabins which make it really useless...
beeing on tour without a base is much safer and more usefull at this point...
building a base is fun but it gives me no benefit... i dont have to warm up or hide from rain, or did i miss something?
can't do that in a small ass treefort
Create a new Game, on difficulty go on custom then set the enemys on low Levels and other Stuff you want to change (important, the Point Animals is the Amount of spawned Canibals, not the harmless Animals, its an Naming Error).
Then Play the game untilyou are in the Game after the Crash.
Build an Tent and Save the Game.
Go to this folder:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves\STEAM-ID\SinglePlayer
Use a Zip Tool like 7-Zip to made a backup of the Save Folder as Backup.
Go in the Folder with the new Game you have created (look as the Thumbnails if you not know what are the right one).
Copy the File "GameSetupSaveData.json" from the new Save in your last normal Save of the Game you want to fix and overwrite the File.
The next time you start your Game it should have the Difficulty Settings from the new Save but the World, your Inventory and builds stay.
If something not work restore it from the Backup.
Thank you so much for this! I'm already a few hours into my 'normal' mode run & wanted to tweak the settings without starting from scratch!
