Do not give Virginia a tracker

I've replicated this twice. After you give Virginia a GPS tracker her GPS icon will disappear from your in-game map and she will also stop appearing.

Before leaving my base for a few days to explore the cave markers I gave her a GPS tracker. A short while later I realised she wasn't appearing on the mini map. I didn't think much of it. After a few days I've returned home & she is no longer appearing. I'll be reloading an earlier save & lose all my cave exploration progress.

I've just replicated this bug. Loaded an earlier save file. Gave Virginia a tracker. Went to bed to pass time. As soon as I woke up her GPS signal disappeared & the tracker appeared back in my inventory.

this is not a unversal element as she is still showing in my save long after i gave her a tracker, and ive seen in multiplayer that the tracker begins showing numerous times because she will warp around the map as she goes to different players.

Yeah her inventory is a bit weird. The GPS tracker works fine on her for me, but whenever I give her the pistol sooner or later she puts it away and it reappears in my inventory. Atleast for me she doesnt despawn like you have described.

ive had her lose the pistol and its just been gone.

That's weird, i gave her tracker more than 10 game days ago and everything has worked fine.

ive had her lose the pistol and its just been gone.

The pistol was the first thing I gave her & I've noticed no issues with it. I can only reproduce this 'bug' after giving her a tracker.

Glad it worked out for you. I'm more of a solo player & having these two along for the journey was a welcome addition, hopefully the bug I'm experiencing is rectified in coming updates.

I just experienced this tonight. Was playing co op with my son and he gave Virginia the tracker. I then noticed a few hours later that she wasn't showing on the map any longer. When I mentioned it to my son he said that he couldn't see her either. I don't know if she's still running around out there somewhere or not yet though. When I hop ingame tomorrow I'll have to wait and see if she shows up. I have noticed, in my single player game, that she disappears during winter and then returns when summer comes again.

I had given her the tracker and it seemed like it made her location more "concrete" on the gps, meaning that she could no longer teleport to your location...so I removed it and it worked for a while (didn't have to wait on her to catch up like Kelvin) but after I went in the docks door she has just poofed outta existence entirely.

She doesn't leave during winter in my single player game. She hangs around my base. If I leave my base, build a makeshift camp & spend the night she spawns somewhere around my location.

By giving her the tracker something messes up & she not only doesn't appear on the map but stops appearing in-game as well. I can easily replicate this bug by loading a previous save file which coincidentally is in winter, handing her the GPS, going to bed & voila, gone for good.

I think you're on to something. Whenever I leave my base & camp for the night she appears somewhere around my location. With the tracker she disappears completely, never to return again!

I also just replicated this bug. Actually I think it's the GPS tracker itself that's bugged. Every time I sleep, ALL of the purple GPS markers respawn but they're not supposed to. Devs gotta patch this one quick as you need Virginia to survive the whole game for an achievement and i'm 100% the game i can't even finish it until this bug is fixed

this is because you assigned the pistol to your backpack. put the pistol off your backpack and put something else on this place (skull), and you never will return the gun from her back.

This just happened to us today. I gave her the tracker, it worked for under 30 minutes. The tracker stopped working, and she has disappeared. I checked my inventory, and sure enough the tracker is back in my box. I am hoping she reappears at some point, because my co-op partner still needs the two achievements. You cannot get them without her.

anyone know if this is fixed yet? i havent given victoria any items for fear of her vanishing again really want to give her an extra gun
