Not even 24 hours put into this game and I already dont want to play it because of how boring it is. So many crafts ... missing ... so many core features from The Forest ... missing... half the caves are unfinished ...
It's fun for the first few hours and then you realize how little there is acutally to do.
Im sure it will be amazing in 1-2 years but yea, this should have definitely not been released this early. I would have rather waited another 6-8 months to play this game with way more things to do then what we got instead.
I will never understand why devs get hate for delaying a game when they clearly need that time.
Early Access sure is a joy to behold, but the game sold extremely well so they're well funded to keep working on it, so I'm hoping for common content updates going forward. Gotta wait and see!
I mean, you can carry a lot more in your inventory in Sons of the Forest than you could in The Forest when you had all the appropriate bags.
I've also had 3 arrow types, Carbon Fiber, Stone, 3D printed.
I've only been able to throw heads on sticks, no proper warning signs.
Does have a point, it is Early Access and you (OP) knew that coming into it.
Hype? what hype did the developers construct? actually they were quite silent and never promised dreams over reality.
Their only mistake was predicting when the game was going to be completed, wich is really, REALLY hard to estimate in software development.
I'm actually thankfull they decided to publish an early access version so we can see the game and its current state, experience each update and process until the game is finished.
Dont like Early Access? then just DONT buy it and wait until it is fully released.
The first trailer was released 3 years ago. The game had 2 delays. If I was a game developer that didn't want hype and money but be pressured into releasing the game as soon as possible, I wouldn't have announced it years before it was complete, and get everyone even more hyped with two release dates that turned out to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
It was delayed by close to half the period from announcement to initial release date.
The patience aspect of this is irrelevant. If they needed a year or two more to make it, then they shouldn't have announced it so soon.
It's a travesty that people like you exist, fully believing that 30 euros should buy me a buggy pile of ♥♥♥♥ because it's early access.
They hype part is in your part... if they decided to start showing trailers to start having potential consumers attention dont see whats wrong there.
If YOU fantasied because of 2 or 3 trailers that clearly were just that, trailers... the fault is on you.
On those trailers I didnt see anything that is not in the game, I never read or listened to developers promising things that are not in the game or wont be in the game.
About the delays, its exactly what I said, their only mistake was predicting when the game was going to be complete. I dont see it being a big issue... unless I have no life and I'm 24 hs depending on a single video game... in wich case I would recommend going to a psychologist.
Well, if they want to share their stuff to get potential customers they should also be aware of thousands of people that are gonna hate on them for disappointing their fanbase this way.
You say they can release and show whatever they want? Sure, and fans can do a bad review on what they want.
